Most clients present with more than one concern at a time. Sessions draw on EMDR, somatic and body-based therapy, and play-based approaches for younger clients, matched to what you are working on.

Before you book

The questions people usually have

What does it cost, and do you direct bill?

Session fees are shown in the booking system before you confirm anything. I offer direct billing depending on your benefits plan, so many clients pay little or nothing out of pocket. If you are not sure what your plan covers, bring it to the free consultation and we will look at it together.

What if it turns out we are not the right fit?

Then you have lost fifteen minutes and nothing else. Fit matters more than credentials in therapy, and I would rather help you find the right person than keep you in the wrong room. If I am not that person, I will say so and point you somewhere better.

How soon can I get in?

Most new clients are booked in within 48 hours, and I reply to every message within one business day. If you are in crisis right now, please call 911 or the Canada Suicide Crisis Helpline at 988. This is not an emergency service.

Is virtual therapy as good as in person?

For most of the work I do, yes. Sessions are available in person in Edmonton or virtually across Canada, and many clients move between the two depending on their week. EMDR and somatic work both adapt well to virtual sessions.

What actually happens in the first session?

Mostly listening. We talk about what brings you here and what you would like to feel differently, at whatever pace you set. You will not be asked to relive anything, and nothing has to come out in one sitting.

Do you work with children, couples, and families?

Yes. I work with children, youth, adults, couples, and families, including play-based therapy for younger clients. If you are booking for someone else in your family, say so in the consultation and we will figure out the right starting point.
